Clementine Giaconia

Clémentine Giaconia is a french designer born in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. Now, she lives and works in Paris. Interior designer and designer of objects, this transversality often leads to her being identified as a designer in the broad sense. Glass, metal, paper, plastic, Clémentine turned her hand to all types of media. Her cross-disciplinary approach taught her the importance of a single detail, a surface, a texture. After graduate studies in Art History, Clémentine turned to Architecture and Design. In 2008, she founded with Frédéric Forest their own design studio – Forest & Giaconia. They sign together several lines of furniture for publishers as well as numerous projects for luxury brands, for which they design spaces, furniture, and objects. In this context, the artist then works on a double scale, alongside French industrialists, and craftsmen.

Today, fifteen years after the foundation of the studio and still in the continuity of creative research, Clémentine inaugurates a new form of writing with an intimate material, clay. She then trained with several ceramists, allowing her to feed on different approaches and gestures. Each piece designed by Clémentine is turned or modeled, then enameled by hand in her Parisian workshop, making it both original and unique. Sensitive to material, color and texture, ceramics opened a new field of expression with infinite variations.
